Standing streamside
Scrolling through some pictures and just thought this one had a cool look to it. Standing streamside and looking back at the truck with the mountain heading up above it. Man, I miss those mountains.

Probably just creek chubs
Wish I had more time here, I love exploring these beautiful places. Unfortunately, with the small window of time I had to fish, the trout were being very uncooperative. Got a few strikes, but nothing to hand. Probably just creek chubs anyway.

The walk in
The walk in to find a spot to fish is almost as enjoyable as the fishing itself.

Is there a better meal?
Is there a better meal than pulled pork BBQ out of a paper box on a truck tailgate while studying a topo map?

Always a welcome sign!
Always a welcome sign! But, there were so many people in the woods today it didn't feel much like a wilderness!!

Gorgeous Weekend Ahead!
It looks like we've got a gorgeous weekend ahead. We're going to try to get on the water and hopefully fool a fish into eating a fly! Hope to see you out there!!

An Interesting Conversation...
I had an interesting conversation with a new neighbor yesterday. He saw my TFO 2 weight leaned against my workbench and questioned how I could get enjoyment out of that as compared to the deep sea fishing he prefers. I think it's all about keeping your expectations in check and enjoying the ritual and the process. Big fish are always fun, but small fish feed the soul. I'll take light rods, small streams or ponds and beautiful little fish any day.
