Managed to catch a nice little snook off the dock tonight before the lightning ran me in! Wish I'd been using a 5 weight, but it feels good to have fishy hands again. Hopefully, more tomorrow!
Throwing it back this week to catching white bass in the suburbs with my buddy Steve Hudson. It's right about this time of year that they're running! My friends at Alpharetta Outfitters are hosting a White Bass Fly Tying Clinic Saturday morning, so make sure you get signed up for that!
I completed my registration this morning. I'll be attending both ICAST 2019 in Orlando and IFTD 2019 in Denver! With the shows separated now, I'll have the time to get even more live coverage from both. So, make sure you follow along! Thanks!!
Saturday was a beautiful day to be on the water! It's just too bad that those Eco-Tours frown on bringing fishing gear on board. It's hard to be on the water for hours and not being allowed to make a single cast!!
This is why the buddy system is necessary when kayak fishing in Florida! They are fascinating creatures from a distance, but my biggest fear is that we'll both try to catch the same fish!
ARC Fishing is here for their first Atlanta The Fly Fishing Show!! Stop by and get the rundown on their innovations in fly line, leaders and tippets. They've got some fantastic show deals going on right now, too!
Checking out some cool new products in the Yeti Coolers booth! The waterproof blanket and folding chairs would be perfect for the camper and the tote bag and wheeled cooler look ideal for surf casting sessions!!
Testing out a new seat set up for my kayak. So far I'm pretty happy with it, I just need to figure out a better way to mount it. I'm hoping to put a lot of miles on and land a lot of fish in this kayak this year, so keep an eye out for various improvements I'll be making for 2019!
