New Hardy Sirrus Sintrix fiberglass Rod
I've gotten some questions about the new Hardy Sirrus Sintrix fiberglass rods. I believe it's due out in September. Here's what Hardy says about it: "Sirrus Glass rods are a range of super smooth, deep loading fly rods bringing the advantages of SINTRIX® technology to a classic rod range. Perfectly suited to short range presentations on small streams and creeks the Sirrus range also features incredible impact resistance and an ability to "Self load" at the closest distances." I can totally agree with that! The short cast accuracy was really impressive as was the ability to load for a shorter cast. It'll be available from a 6' 2 weight through an 8' 5 weight!! Shoot me a message if you have any more questions and I'll see about getting them answered!!

Here's a more detailed shot of the Vania True Flies Hopper. Available in individual components, as tying kits and as assembled flies. Very lifelike in detail and movement, the soft foam is light enough to turn over, delicate enough for great minute movement, but strong enough to withstand a a day of rigorous fishing. www.vaniafly.com #VaniaTrueFlies #Hopper #flies #flytying #flytyingjunkie #lifelike #realistic #BluegillBait #TroutBait #flyfishing #IFTD2016 #IFTD #TheSuburbanAngler #161

Tail Flyfishing Magazine
I just finished reading the print version of the July/August 2016 issue
of Tail Fly Fishing Magazine I got at IFTD. It's not often I sit and read a
magazine cover to cover, but, I can honestly say, I was disappointed
when I turned the last page! Amazing photography, awesome destination
articles, techniques, fly recommendations and even a fly recipe in this
issue. I really look forward to seeing the next one! This is the first
issue available in print or you can visit tailflyfishing.com for the
digital version. I highly recommend it if you have the slightest
interest in saltwater flyfishing!! Now, I need to go tie a few dozen
white Clouser Minnows!!

My first attempt at an Elk Hair Caddis.
My first attempt at an Elk Hair Caddis. I think it went pretty well, right up until the hook slipped out of the vise and the thread broke at the same time, while I was trying to tie in the Elk Hair!! Let's hope attempt no. 2 goes a little better!!
