Had a fantastic first experience with GSSF today, weather notwithstanding! Every person I dealt with was friendly, helpful and encouraging. The few minor issues I ran into were quickly and easily remedied. I only fell short of my goal of not missing by a couple shots, so I'm pretty happy with my performance and have better focus on the areas that need work. Last week I had the opportunity to tour the last surviving antebellum mansion in south Florida. Incredible Florida Frontier history dating back to the 1840s! Unfortunately only the walls and columns of the Gamble Plantation house are original, but the Florida State Park has replaced the millwork and flooring in the house and is working to collect appropriate period furnishings. Star brite RV Wash & Wax

When I spoke to the folks at Starbrite at ICAST this summer, they were kind enough to send me home with a jug of RV Wash & Wax to try out on the camper. I finally got around to trying it this weekend and I really liked it! It did a fantastic job washing the grime off the fiberglass skin, shined it up at the same time, maintained a high volume of suds throughout the wash and smelled like the purple lollie pops you used to get from the bank as a kid! I'll use it a few more times before I do a full review, but, so far, thumbs up!!! 👍

Well...that sucks. Probably for the best and it's never an easy decision. I don't envy the folks that had to do it and I feel bad for all the vendors and attendees who were counting on the show. I won't be getting any in-person, live-from-the-show-floor coverage for you guys, but I'll still do my best to introduce you to all the new gear I can find. While in Fort Pierce last week, I took the opportunity to check out one of the oldest tackle shops in Florida. White's Tackle has been outfitting fishermen since 1925!! They've changed locations in town several times over the past century (and, opened several additional locations), so the store isn't as historic as the business, but it was still a neat place to check out. Dedicated Fly Tyers!! The first night back to an MCFF Fly Tying meeting was met with a thunderstorm that knocked out the power! The beginner class got it done, though, by finishing instruction under emergency lights, a vise lamp and cell phone glow.
