Fly Line, New Product Showcase ICAST 2019

Cortland had the only fly line that I could find in the New Product Showcase. The Redfish line is a two-tone, floating, saltwater fly line from their Tropic Plus series. I'll definitely be tracking this one down on the show floor!

33 days to go!

33 days to go! Tonight's Countdown Throwback photo features the ARC Fishing booth. Obsessed about the technology and design of their lines, leaders and tippets, they say their 99 series lines are good for 99% of the conditions you'll encounter!! I've used them and had great experiences! www.ARCFishing.com @arcfishing

Spooling Up

I finally got around to spooling up the Aspen Reels Aspen 300 mid-arbor fly reel. I lined it with Risen Fly Omega Supreme 4 weight line and will mount it on an Eagle Claw Featherlight rod. This feels like a nearly bullet proof set up that I'm really looking forward to putting to use!!

Replacing the line that tangled with oyster shells.

Picked up an ARC Fishing Bonefish/Redfish line to replace the line that tangled with oyster shells. I'm looking forward to throwing it with my Walters Fly Rods Cinder Creek 8 weight, but now I'm tempted to want a new reel to complete the ensemble!!

Cast the Grass

Took the old Reelwood Bamboo flyrod to a local park pond for some exercise tonight. Nothing biting, but it was sure nice to cast the grass rod again.
