It looks like we've got a gorgeous weekend ahead. We're going to try to get on the water and hopefully fool a fish into eating a fly! Hope to see you out there!!

Spring Garden Lake, de Leon Springs State Park
A float plane preparing to take off from Spring Garden Lake, de Leon Springs State Park, de Leon Springs, Florida. A ride in one of these to a remote fishing hole is absolutely in the top 10 on my bucket list!!

Sheepshead on the Fly
I'm hoping to catch a sheepshead on the fly soon. I think a brown-er crab might do better, matching the hatch, so to speak.

What a fantastic caster!
The universe seems to be against me fly fishing the salt. We didn't get out as early as hoped, there was a bait fisherman at the end of the dock where I was planning to go and once I started casting to the mouth of the canal the thunderstorms started moving in. Oh well, better luck next time. At least I got to cast my sweet, new Walter's Fly Rods Cinder Creek. What a fantastic caster! Almost makes me look like I know what I'm doing!!

Made it to the beach just in time for the light show. Totally flabbergasted I was able to capture lightning with my cell phone camera!
