MCFF Fly Tying Night - 15 May 2023

Another great night of casting practice and fly tying with the Mid-Coast Fly Fishers! Capt. Frank Brownell shared his interpretation of a classic Gurgler which demonstrated multiple techniques like dealing with bucktail, stacking thread, wrapping chenille, and, most notably, introduces folks to tying flies with craft foam! As always all are welcome and I'll be glad to save a seat for you!

Mid Coast Fly Fishers - 8 May 2023

It was a beautiful evening for casting practice on the lawn at tonight's Mid Coast Fly Fishers meeting! Our speaker was under the weather, so our meeting instead consisted of fishing reports and local news from the membership, but that always makes for a fun and informative night! There's always room for more, and all are welcome. I'll be glad to save you a seat!

Bob Clouser -- TFFS ATL 2019

Bob Clouser demonstrating casting techniques on the casting pond!

Mauser Fly Fishing -- TFFS ATL 2019

Made a stop at the Mauser Fly Fishing booth to check out the new Arete line of trout rods! Their first rod line, The Waterman, was an incredible casting rod, so I have no doubt the Arete will be equally adept!! The guys at Mauser have some great plans for the near future, so it's definitely a brand to watch!!

Today is the last day!

Today is the last day! IFTD and ICAST 2018 starts tomorrow with ICAST On The Water and the New Product Showcases!! While all of the exhibitors prepare their booths, I thought I'd prepare by exercising my casting shoulder and hounding some little sunfish!

Casting Practice

Had a fantastic evening for some after work casting practice on the beach last night!! Glad to see the water getting back to normal and the wind and rain giving us a break! The only way to improve fly casting is through practice, so practice every chance you get!!
