At tonight's MCFF Tying Night, we took a shot at Stu Apte's Black Death! Under the direction of our new club treasurer Guy, this was a fairly easy pattern to tie, but required a few techniques and several different materials! Fun tie and a great looking tarpon fly!

MCFF Tying Night -- 17 March 2025
Tying Night at MCFF saw Bob Dillon leading us with his interpretation of the late Bob Popovic's Hollow Fly that he dubbed the Spye! As per usual, mine was tied far too heavy, but this is a great technique that's open to lots of customization to suit your fishery! Tying Night is the 3rd Monday of each month! All are welcome, and as always, I'll be glad to save you a seat!

Wonderful day for the Mid-Coast Fly Fishers' annual open house! Huge thanks to all who came out and made it an excellent event! The morning started out on the cool side, so hot coffee was definitely required! Thanks, too, to the vendors who joined us! Floyd Skiffs, RCI Optics, Cortland and Riverside Conservancy. Always so much fun to share a meal and the passion for fly fishing with so many great folks! I clearly didn't take enough pictures, but I'm proud and thankful for how well the day went! MCFF Fly Tying Meeting -- 16 Dec 2024
Awesome seasonal novelty tie at tonight's MCFF Tying Meeting that lead many to believe we were tying a Tarpon Toad variant right up until completion! ( and, really, we were!) Many thanks to Carl Sanders, our fly-tyer extraordinaire for ending the year with such a fun and challenging fly, but also for all his service to the Club and the many incredible ties and techniques he shared with us during his tenure. He will be missed, but we wish him the best and hope he'll drop into the Club any time he's able! MCFF meets the 2nd and 3rd Monday of each month, with tying night on the 3rd. As always, all are welcome and I'll be glad to save you a seat!

MCFF Meeting -- 11 November 2024
Tonight's Mid Coast Fly Fishers meeting featured former club president, and current FOP Lodge liaison, Mark Patterson, who presented the club with a thank you letter for the members who helped clean up the lodge property after this year's hurricanes, and also to relay stories of the early days of MCFF, a fly pattern design credited to members of the club and to show his amazing rodbuilding handiwork! Another great meeting in the books, so I hope you'll join us for the next one! Second and third Monday of each month. All are welcome, and I'll be glad to save you a seat!
