MCFF Tying Meeting -- 17 June 2024

At tonight's MCFF Tying Meeting, the club's own Bob Dillon once again led the tyers with some variations on the classic Gartside Gurgler! Tying in bucktail, palmering hackel and working with foam are some of the foundation skills that are always good to practice! The MCFF Tying Meeting is the third Monday of every month, and, as always, all are welcome. I'll be glad to save you a seat!

Star brite RV Wash & Wax

When I spoke to the folks at Starbrite at ICAST this summer, they were kind enough to send me home with a jug of RV Wash & Wax to try out on the camper. I finally got around to trying it this weekend and I really liked it! It did a fantastic job washing the grime off the fiberglass skin, shined it up at the same time, maintained a high volume of suds throughout the wash and smelled like the purple lollie pops you used to get from the bank as a kid! I'll use it a few more times before I do a full review, but, so far, thumbs up!!! 👍

Now Available The Suburban Angler shirts!

Running a bit of an experiment here! I've approved a limited run of The Suburban Angler logo t-shirts on Teespring. They've been requested a number of times, but I could never find a method I was comfortable with. If you like it visit teespring.com/the-suburban-angler to order. Post a picture of you wearing the shirt and tag @thesuburbanangler on social media and I'll send you a sticker pack to go with it! Thanks for your support!!

33 days to go!

33 days to go! Tonight's Countdown Throwback photo features the ARC Fishing booth. Obsessed about the technology and design of their lines, leaders and tippets, they say their 99 series lines are good for 99% of the conditions you'll encounter!! I've used them and had great experiences! www.ARCFishing.com @arcfishing

34 more days until IFTD/ICAST 2018!!!

34 more days until IFTD/ICAST 2018!!! Tonight's Throwback Countdown shot is the Finn Utility booth from IFTD 2014. One of the things that really holds appeal for me in fly fishing is it's history and tradition. These hand made accessories from Vermont combine modern utility with the traditional fly fishing aesthetic. All the Finn products are built tough, made to be used and will last generations! Check them out at FinnUtility.com and @finnutility.
